Surabaya, Indonesia. May 8, 2025 - Dr. Rungpetch Sakulbumrungsil and executives from the FAPA College of Pharmacy (FAPA-CP) visited the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Surabaya (UBAYA), Indonesia. They were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Drs. apt. Antonius Adji Prayitno Setiadi, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UBAYA, administrators, and faculty members.
The visit featured a collaborative presentation and knowledge exchange session as part of the Benchmarking Curriculum Forum, focusing on comparative pharmaceutical education systems in Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan. The forum explored both undergraduate pharmacy education and advanced professional development programs for practicing pharmacists.
Key contributors to the forum included Dr. Rungpetch Sakulbumrungsil and Dr. Nusaraporn Ketsomboon from FAPA-CP, Prof. Dr. Antonius Adji Prayitno Setiadi of UBAYA, and Dr. Yoko Nanaumi, CEO of Seven Project and Seven Pharmacy, as well as the Chief Director of the Advanced Pharma Research Office in Japan.
On this occasion, FAPA-CP, represented by Dr. Rungpetch Sakulbumrungsil, and the Faculty of Pharmacy, UBAYA, represented by Prof. Dr. Antonius Adji Prayitno Setiadi, jointly signed an Implementation Arrangement (IA) to strengthen ongoing and sustainable collaboration in education, teaching, and research. This agreement marks a significant step forward in fostering academic synergy and regional integration in the pharmaceutical sciences.
The forum and the signing of the IA open new opportunities to strengthen the partnership between institutions. As part of this collaboration, two faculty members from UBAYA will pursue their Ph.D. studies at Khon Kaen University, and one faculty member will join at Chulalongkorn University. These academic pathways highlight the shared commitment to capacity building and to advancing the quality of pharmaceutical education and research across Asia.
